Neil and Gina Evans invite you to dine in their Licensed restaurant, boasting upmarket contemporary eating in an intimate Grade II listed building.

Chef Proprietor Neil Evans, who has worked in some of London’s top hotels including the Ritz, creates sumptuous feasts to delight diners.

The menu emphasises the use of fresh, local produce and all the food is created on the premises. Tantalise your taste buds with dishes such as crab and spinach ravioli, loin fillet of Godmersham venison and caramelised apple shortbread with cinnamon creme anglaise.

We Say

A most unassuming little restaurant with humble façade and simply laid tables provides a joyous change from the gaudy fake sophistication of many modern establishments. A warm and courteous welcome greeted us upon arrival. A fresh jug of water and warm homemade bread rolls arrived almost immediately and selecting from the excellent and varied wine list provided a welcome challenge.

Our orders having been taken an exquisite smoked salmon soufflé delighted as a wonderfully light hors d’oeuvre. Our selections of smoked duck breast and sautéed calves liver were particularly excellent; both being perfectly pink in the centre. The orange and Cointreau bread and butter pudding was a slight disappointment (we felt that the sultanas overpowered the flavour of the orange), however, we’re really being a little pedantic here. The menu is seasonal and changed every month; this is very important, a fine restaurant cannot be taken seriously if its menu is repetitive. Without question, this is a superb restaurant and we look forward unreservedly to our next visit.
