Cuban Restaurant

Founded in 1967, the Centro Cubano de España - the Cuban Centre in Spain - is located in the Salamanca district in central Madrid and is the oldest Cuban restaurant in Europe.

Not surprisingly, the cuisine at the Centro Cubano is based around Cuban cooking. Specialities include classics such as “ropa vieja” (slow cooked shredded beef with tomato sauce) with rice and beans, fried beef with “congrí” (mixed rice and kidney beans) and fried green plantain or Creole mince with white rice and ripe plantain.

There is a long bar that serves a wide range of cocktails, including its renowned mojitos. On weekdays the restaurant also offers a set menu with more traditional Mediterranean fare in addition to its Cuban dishes, all accompanied by a mixture of classic and modern Cuban music.

The Centro Cubano has two dining rooms with a capacity for 200 people. There is also a private dining room available, which can be reserved for special events.
