Dover is England's busiest port, offering a host of cross-channel ferries. However, the town itself has a lot to offer and is often overlooked.
The old seafront enjoys a delightful view over the harbour and the town boasts many Georgian and Victorian houses. Many of the backstreets have a decidely untouched feel about them.
Dover Castle stands proud and glorious on the cliff-top overlooking the town and harbour. Visiting the castle is an absolute must offering fine history, year-round events and breath-taking views over the channel.
