Named Best Newcomer in the Great British Pub Awards in 2011, The Sun Inn has also held an esteemed AA Rosette since 2010. Situated on the old Winchester Road, South of Basingstoke, the Sun Inn’s reputation as child-friendly gastro-pub is growing in the capable hands of Head Chef Gordon Stott. Gordon went to Tante Marie Cookery College, in which Gordon Ramsey part owns, and achieved his Cordon Bleu Diploma, a few years later successfully took over as Landlord and Head Chef in February of this year. Drinkers are welcome too and ales from the Triple fff Brewery outside Alton do not have far to travel. The pub has undergone an extensive refurbishment inside and out, making a warm and pleasant environment in which to enjoy British classic dishes such as pan-roasted English sirloin steak with triple-cooked chips, followed perhaps by a white chocolate cheesecake with vanilla poached pear.
