The Zur Eiche is a traditional hotel-restaurant in Wusterhausen near Berlin. It serves food from all over Germany as well as local Brandenburg dishes. Under Carla Rothe’s management, the restaurant uses a modern cooking style, innovative combinations and clever preparation to give typical German cuisine some real spark. There is a wide-ranging menu which includes seasonal dishes such as asparagus, herring and chanterelles. The menu also offers bison steak and game sourced from the hotel’s own hunting ground. There may even be a special one-off hunt for the game. In terms of the wine, Zur Eiche depends entirely on products from the Haus Langenbach in Trier. The breakfast and afternoon coffee comes from a private roasting house in Bremen. There are also special offers, such as breakfast on a Spreewald boat and a flat fee for parties. It has a friendly and informal feel.
