At Gammel Strand (Old Beach) in the heart of Copenhagen, near the statue of Absalon, the city’s founder, lies restaurant Gammel Strand, a cosily decorated Copenhagen classic. The menu offers traditional Danish lunch and Danish/French cuisine in the evening, with a special focus on seasonal fish. The evening menu is either a la carte or a three, four or five-course menu. The wine list features predominantly French and Italian wines, some of which are available by the glass. The restaurant also offers a wine menu, featuring aperitifs and wines specially matched to the chosen dishes or menus. In summer, guests can dine al fresco while overlooking the Thorvaldsen Museum, Christiansborg, and Copenhagen waterways.
