Indian Restaurant

From the very beginning, Maharani’s ambition has been to provide authentic, flavourful Indian food to the people of Gothenburg. At the beginning of 2006, the restaurant moved closer to Järntorget and got a smart new kitchen and a modern, inviting dining room. At Maharani, you can choose between genuine Indian dishes such as: kutub shahi (breast of chicken marinated in coriander, mint, coconut, green chilli, star anise, nutmeg and lime juice); jhinga maharani (tiger prawns in a creamy tomato and pepper sauce with Maharani’s own blend of spices); and bhuna gosht (diced lamb with tomato, onion, cardamom and garam masala).
