Over the last 200 years this site on Ludgate Hill has been a farmhouse, a Thimble Makers, and now a popular Mediterranean restaurant with views over St Paul’s Square. Still retaining many of its period features over its two floors Locanta has a varied menu, starters include Italian Meatballs whilst vegetarians have over a dozen starters to choose from including a Baked Spinach Crepe and fish lovers can tuck into a Warm Mackerel Salad. The Pasta and Risotto menu includes Gnocchi with mushrooms and artichokes whilst mains include Paella including a vegetarian version and Mediterranean Lamb Fillet. Desserts range from a feather light Zabaglione to Cheescake of the Day. A good range of wines complement this wide selection of Mediterranean inspired dishes.
