The Beckmann’s Restaurant situated in the courtyard of the Landhotel Saarland, avoids being pretentious with a first class a la carte menu, providing wholesome home-cooked meals using organic produce. A large proportion of the meat comes from the nearby Sauerland pastures. Vegetables, salad and fruit are all personally checked for quality and freshness by the head chef. The theme is regional and seasonal food and is without doubt always fresh. For example, herbs are taken directly from the restaurant’s own garden and wild garlic is sourced from the nearby woods. Fruit and berries are made into home-made marmalade and jams. The Landhotel itself is one of the registered Sauerland hiking hotels and is situated directly on the remote walkways of the “Sauerland High altitude flight” and the “Sauerland cycle route”. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy the local nature trails either before, or after your meal. The Segway tours are an additional highlight for guests. They put you even more in touch with the benefits of the culinary delights on offer. When the weather is good during the summer, spending time in the beer garden situated in the courtyard is a particularly pleasurable experience for barbecue fans. Guests can sit, relax and chat by the well under the old chestnut tree. The huge charcoal grill in the centre is the icing on the cake. It can be adjusted to any height and has a complete kitchen attached.
