The restaurant Aux Jardins des Délices is part of the renowned hotel l’Abbaye des Talloires, situated along the route of an old roman road on the banks of the Lac d’Annecy and not far from Annecy itself. The hotel is in an old and well preserved abbey on the banks of one of the most beautiful lakes in the Alps. The Chef Fouquet has quite a reputation and uses fresh produce and regional specialities to mix the old and the new. He has already been given several awards for his gourmet and regional dishes. The wines are stored in a historic and well preserved cellar and add to the delight of eating in the magnificent dining area or in one of the other rooms that overlooks the lake. The Cézanne terrace (apparently the hotel was a favourite of the artist) overlooks the lake. On sunny days you can order from the brasserie menu here with your feet practically in the water. In the evening relaxing music is played in the piano bar and splendid cocktails are served, all against a backdrop of ancient stone.
