It was built in 1751 on the slopes of Holcombe Hill, overlooking the Irwell valley.
Under Chris Yates’ ownership the award-winning pub-restaurant combines high-end versions of favourite traditional dishes and daily specials beside an open fire in the bar or the more formal dining room. And the menu reflects Chris’ belief in using Lancashire’s finest and freshest ingredients.
The choice of hand-pulled real English ales, foreign draught and bottled beers, a wide ranging wine cellar and a shelf of Scotland’s finest single malts adds up to the welcoming atmosphere and comfortable rural charm of one of Lancashire’s leading pub-restaurant.
