| Chinese Restaurant The Pink Giraffe Chinese Restaurant in Oxford serves a mixture of traditional Chinese dishes with a wide variety of vegetarian and soya meat dishes. Located in the centre of Oxford, it is a must visit after a hard days shopping and sight seeing. A minutes brisk walk from Oxford’s Magdalen Bridge is where The Pink Giraffe can be found, a cosy Chinese restaurant serving all the usual favourites with a twist of Japanese, Thai, Cantonese and Szechwan flavour in various dishes. A fusion of oriental taste can be found in the restaurant’s menu as the chefs are from China - Hong Kong and Malaysia, where a wide range of savoury, spicy and sweet dishes have many different forms of cooking techniques.
Originally first opened in 1998, this was solely a vegetarian restaurant, hence the vegetarian giraffe’s association with the naming of the restaurant, and the colour pink was relevant because it is the owners favourite colour! The Pink Giraffe was to be a destination restaurant that was truly unique where a differential Vegetarian menu was of paramount importance, as there were no restaurants that catered specifically for Vegetarians in Oxford. Since then, this Chinese restaurant has branched out into catering for other guests apart from just vegetarians and have included Meat, Fish & Poultry into the menu. The vegetarian menu not only comprises of the usual vegetable dishes, but of Soya meats too! Even if you are a meat eater, why not try out the so-called Soya Meat dishes to experience what an Emperor once savoured! The Pink Giraffe has become a favourite destination for our party bookings as vegetarians and meat eaters are equally catered for in terms of cuisine!
