The Hofer der Stadtwirt is a restaurant in the centre of Munich near Marienplatz, and attracts a mixed clientele. It has three dining areas situated on two floors, a vaulted basement and a beer garden in the inner courtyard. The traditional restaurant serves local dishes and drinks from morning to night. The former Stadschreiberei is the oldest town house in Munich. The restaurant ambience merges the history of the house with modern gastronomy. They have Tafelspitz (boiled beef Viennese style) and Weissbier (?white beer?, a Bavarian beer in which a significant proportion of malted barley is replaced with malted wheat), as well as cocktails made to order. They also serve a breakfast buffet every day right into the afternoon.
