The new Bistro Ludwig offers Cologne good quality, German cuisine and local specialities. It also has a fresh, new look. There are pictures on the walls with scenes from the 1950s. Ludwig Erhard looks down at diners from one side of the room. Erhard masterminded the German economic miracle in the 1950s and the Ludwig Erhard Prize stands for enterprise and excellence. The Bistro Ludwig offers a formula inspired by the principles that Erhard championed and the culinary ideas of the chef Frank Marischen - namely that food should be local, tasty, simple and fast - which is exactly what the guests are after.
