The county town of Devon, Exeter has a long history. Established by the Romans as early as 50AD as the most south-westerly Roman fortified settlement in England.
The city's magnificent Gothic Cathedral was founded in 1050, just sixteen years before the battle of Hastings. An abundance of restaurants, pubs, cafes and tearooms caters for every taste.
