You will see all sorts at the Alt Münchner Gesellenhaus. Apprentices, academics, priests and professors, you name it, they are all here. This is a traditional eatery situated on Adolf-Kolping-Straße in the Ludwigsvorstadt district of Munich. On the menu are classic Bavarian delicacies such as Fleischpflanzerl (a type of meatball) with homemade potato salad, as well as grilled knuckle of pork with a dark beer sauce and roast pork with a caraway beer sauce both of which are served with dumplings and cabbage salad. However, the Alt Münchner Gesellenhaus does not just specialise in Bavarian cuisine. You can also find a selection of Mediterranean dishes, such as pasta served with salmon fillet in a lobster cream sauce and vegetable julienne and fried zander fillet in brown almond butter. Desserts include Dampfnudeln (German yeast dumplings) served with vanilla sauce. This is why the restaurant is so popular with so many people who enjoy the pleasant surroundings of the beer garden in the warm summer months.
